Boundless 3 is out. It's 3.0.0, build 120, on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, and it's a rebuild from the ground up. It isn't Boundless 2 with a fresh coat of paint.
The look
New design, built around real liquid glass. The site's been moved over to the same look, so the two match now.
Your Boundless 2 stuff comes with you
Your library, progress and downloads carry over from Boundless 2, so you're not starting from zero.
Android is the one place with a catch. The 3.0 APKs are signed with a new key, and Android flatly refuses to install an app over one that was signed with a different key. So if you're on a Boundless 2 APK, do it in this order: make a backup in Boundless 2 (Settings > Backup), uninstall it, install Boundless 3, then restore the backup. It's a bit annoying, but it works.
Reading
A few new reader options: fonts for novels, page sharing, two page spreads for comics, and two column pages for novels when the screen's wide enough.
Accounts, sync and community
Comments, profiles and shelves are in, for people who sign in. Signing in is still optional.
Sync works across your devices now, and Apple devices get iCloud backup on top.
Widgets, stats and streaks
Home screen widgets, reading stats and streaks are all new in 3.0. Your reading, in numbers, if you like that sort of thing.
Mac and iPad
Mac has its own app now, with a sidebar. It's a signed and notarized DMG: open it, drag Boundless into Applications, and it opens like any other app. On iPad the sidebar can collapse into the tab bar when you'd rather have the room.
3.0.1
Two things were broken on day one, and 3.0.1 fixes both.
The Unrestricted Content toggle was turning itself back on every time you launched the app, even after you'd switched it off. It stays off now. I also renamed it to Unrestricted Content everywhere in the app, so it matches the Discord bot's /unrestricted-content command.
On Android phones with gesture navigation or a taskbar, the tab bar sat on top of the system navigation bar. It doesn't any more.
Mac downloads changed too. There's a notarized universal DMG, plus separate Apple Silicon and Intel builds if you'd rather take the smaller download.
Downloads are on the download page, every file's checksum is on the releases page, and bugs go to the Discord.
