Boundless now runs on Android, in beta

The v2.15 rewrite puts every platform on one React Native codebase, which is what brought Boundless to Android, as a direct APK while it works toward the Play Store.

Boundless was iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It's on Android now too.

One codebase, not two

Boundless used to be SwiftUI end to end, which meant Android would have been a second app to keep in sync by hand. That is the trade the v2.15 rewrite exists to avoid: every platform now runs one React Native codebase, so Android is the same app rather than a port of it.

Everything comes with it. Paged and long-strip comics, the prose reader, tap navigation, auto-scroll, offline downloads. Extensions run the same sandbox, installed from a URL you choose, and a repository you've already added on iPhone or iPad works here too.

Direct APK, not the Play Store

It's not on the Play Store yet, so it ships as a direct, release-signed APK for now. Android will warn about installing from an unknown source the first time; that's normal for this.

Where things stand

iPhone, iPad, and Mac are on the App Store now. Android is still the direct download while it works toward the Play Store. If something breaks, say so.
